Issuing of Licenses

Licenses

The Administration and Policy Formulation Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is responsible for issuing various licenses to agricultural producers. The following is a list of the licenses offered:

1. Hucksters Licenses

2. Produce Seller's Licenses

3. Alien Land Holder's License

 

 

 

Hucksters Licenses

In keeping with export regulations and the Laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica anyone wishing to export agricultural produce for commercial purposes will require a Hucksters License. Forms can be collected at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry or the Dominica Hucksters Association office. Applicants must complete the form and return it to the Dominica Hucksters Association office. Applicants must then attend an orientation session prior to being awarded the huckster's license. The date and venue of this session will be communicated to all applicants after the forms have been returned to the Dominica Hucksters Association office for processing. At the orientation session applicants will given their stamped application forms which must be taken to the Policy Formulation and Administration Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry for issuing of the Huckster's License Book. Stamped application forms must be accompanied by a police record and an XCD10.00 processing fee.

Produce Sellers Licenses

In keeping with the Laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica, anyone wishing to engage in domestic trade of fresh agricultural produce will require a Produce Seller's License. Forms can be obtained from the Division of Agriculture and the Regional Agricultural Stations. Applicant's must complete the form and return it to their respective Extension Officer or Agricultural Station. An Extension Officer will then conduct a survey of the applicant's farm holding prior to endorsing the application form. Signed application forms should be taken to the Division of Agriculture along with two (2) passport sized photos. Applicants will then be issued a picture ID bearing their unique Produce Sellers Identification Number. This ID card should be taken to the Policy Formulation and Administration Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry where the card holder will be issued a Produce Seller's License Book. A fee of XCD10.00 must be paid before receiving the Produce Seller's License Book.

Alien Land Holders License

Foreigners wishing to acquire land in the Commonwealth of Dominica must apply for an Alien Land Holder's License. Forms can be obtained from the Policy Formulation and Administration Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry or can be downloaded online from the Ministry's Online File Repository. A fee of XCD150.00 must be paid at the Treasury Department and the receipt must be submitted together with the application and all requested documents to the Policy Formulation and Administration Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
