The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, having recognised the need to develop a coordinated and strategic approach to diversification developed the National Programme for Agricultural Diversification. Since 2003 the Special Framework of Assistance (SFA) Projects have assisted in allocation of resources for implementation of the various projects under the National Programme for Agricultural Diversification. These projects are implemented under the European Union Agricultural Diversification Programme (EU ADP) and include: development of off-farm infrastructure; development of information systems for management of agricultural infromation; enforcement of standards and regulations; and training and capacity building. All projects under the Programme's porfolio are implement by the National Programme Coordinator (NPC). Mr. Bernard Mark John has served as the NPC of the EU ADP since the Programme's commencement in 2003.
